Our History

A LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE 

Over the decades we have evolved dramatically and transitioned into a tech-driven waste management provider – leveraging advanced systems and an extensive partner network to deliver modern solutions to complex operations. 

1971

This shot from 1971 captures the Hull family enjoying a day on the job. Over 50 years later, our love for the waste management industry remains unchanged.

1972

Innovation has always been at the heart of our business, and this 1972 polaroid captures the late Peter Hull overseeing an old-school Auto Pipeline Feeding system.

1973

This polaroid from 1973 captures Peter Hull alongside one of the lads. The operation had just began to process loaves of bread, and was the beginning of our food waste specialism.

We began our long-term partnership with Samworth Brothers – one of the most respected names in UK food manufacturing.

1996

Our partnership with Walkers Snack Foods and PepsiCo begins – cementing our role as a trusted provider to globally recognised food brands.

Also this year, the first compactors delivered to site – marking the start of our journey into specialist waste equipment and operational optimisation for clients.

1997

We began providing Pukka Pies with bespoke waste management solutions – laying the foundation for a long-standing strategic partnership.

2000

Launch of our first in-house auto separation plant – enabling more advanced material sorting and improved recycling performance for clients.

2006

Our first MRF (Materials Recovery Facility) goes live, enhancing our capabilities in sorting and processing mixed waste on-site.

2007

Arrival of our first bespoke recycling lorries – expanding our operational fleet and giving clients access to dedicated, high-efficiency collections.

2010

We began our partnership with the Reckitt Benckiser – applying tailored solutions to one of the UK’s leading health product manufacturers. 

We also moved to our new office facility – giving our growing team a modern HQ for service delivery, strategy, and client support.

2013

Solar panels are installed across our site, reinforcing our long-term commitment to sustainability and low-impact operational practices.

2015

Samworth Brothers win the Business Green Leaders Award – recognition of their waste and sustainability progress with P.H. Hull’s support.

2016

Ginsters join our partner network, expanding our footprint within the Samworth Brothers group and the wider food sector.

2016

Launch of our Client Zone reporting system – introducing the first version of our now market-leading live data platform.

2016

Kettleby Foods & Burberry Foods recognised as Platinum Winner in the Lets Recycle Zero Waste Awards – an achievement powered by our waste strategies.

We began our partnership with Addo Food Group – expanding our client base across the UK’s major chilled food manufacturers.
